Brumley Solo Tabbed Out Together Again
Writer | Topic: Together Again" The original recording Tabbed |
Ricky Davis Moderator From: Spring, Texas Us | posted 07 October 1999 06:59 PM profile I tabbed the vocal out in C#, just like the way Tom Brumley played it at that time. Now Tom and myself both lower our 5th cord a half tone; then these days the fifth string note on the 2nd fret goes down chromatic; and you can do it with the knee lever or moving the bar dorsum a half footstep. There take been alot of twist and turns added to that solo through the years; and Peggy was the closest I've seen; but still in that location was a variation in her audio file. I couldn't read your tab Peg; considering it got jumbled up somehow. Anyways; to be so bold and over confident like I get onetime; Tom Brumley was my neighbor and instructor in the early on '80s and showed me exactly how he played information technology at the time; but I did have to go dorsum and mind to the recording to freshin' my retention; cause I'yard guilty of variation too. But here it is:

I told Dale howdy for yous as I was talkin' to him, while reading your post; own't these things bully. Anyways; yeah Tom hated his audio then; but I thought that guitar sounded great. Come to call back of it; Tom never likes his sound; and I never know why; he is and so difficult on hisself; but that's what makes him so perfect in our eyes. And so when are you gunna grace the states with some pure steel tab knowledge. If you haven't figured this posting the tab affair notwithstanding or don't want to; no prob. But if yous demand help; ask and I volition send you details on how to write and post it on here. I would love to learn some Al Udeen licks. Ricky |

I also found some things out for myself in re-workin' the song out and that'due south what it'due south all near. I love to learn things out almost my playing; and information technology mostly happens when I'm trying to aid out a boyfriend steel player. I love that. Ricky |
Anders Lindby Fellow member From: Island of Gotland - Sweden. | posted ten October 1999 03:58 AM contour I must agree, that 7~a thing Rod was talking about missing sounds more like it, i accept always gone from fret 9 to 8 with no pedals
But Rickys 7~a thing sure sounds improve, Thank you Ricky for posting this here for all to see. Anders |
Ricky Davis Moderator From: Spring, Texas Us | posted 10 Oct 1999 01:11 PM profile No prob. I ever attempt and listen the the highest note in a lick or phrase; and that volition normally tell me the position for the other notes. Merely a little "Nutrient For Thought" Ricky |
Lynn Kasdorf Member From: Leesburg, Virginia, United states of america | posted 11 October 1999 11:28 AM profile That lever that drops the 5th cord B is handy for Together once more, but it is really handy for a 7th (or 9th) sound, 2 frets down from open up. Some other way to look at it- it is flatting the V of the open up chord, which gives y'all a absurd II9 chord, just like the pedal 5 on C6. And with pedals downward, it flats the third- and then it is a prissy style to become major to small (of course, you could just as well slide upwards ane fret, come off the pedals, and push the D lever (lowering Due east's) for the same upshot. |
Ricky Davis Moderator From: Leap, Texas Usa | posted xi Oct 1999 01:twoscore PM profile Hey thanks Lynn; that is a perfect description of the manner at looking at that change on the pedal steel. Ricky |
Chris DeBarge Member From: Boston, Mass | posted 24 Oct 1999 06:25 PM contour Ricky, this department the imaginary words:...my tears...) three._4b_~7___ I practise as: I know information technology's a bar slant, just I find information technology much smoother for me and my guitar than jumping the 3 frets and letting off the pedals, which I tin never seem to do fluidly. Anybody else practice it this fashion? Chris |
Ricky Davis Moderator From: Leap, Texas U.s.a. | posted 24 October 1999 08:33 PM profile Hey Chris; that is cool. I do the same thing pal; except I lower my 5th cord a one-half tone; and you lot can become the aforementioned voicing at that 6th fret, using it. 4b~~6b 4a~~6a(Fifty) 4a~~7~~6 |
Chris DeBarge Fellow member From: Boston, Mass | posted 27 October 1999 01:24 PM profile Ricky, Yeah, I'll endeavour to send a wave file to Graham, that lick is fast and tough! The Fender'south a loveable ole' curmudgeon, still having fun with it, nothing else gets that audio...except maybe a REALLY sometime Sho-Bud...hmmm. Nah, I'd better not, the wife is already mad at me for having too much junk! We can never win can nosotros? |
Ricky Davis Moderator From: Spring, Texas Us | posted 27 October 1999 05:48 PM contour Chris; only do like I exercise, and sell something else to get that next something you lot want. Makes since don't it. Well somethings I wish I didn't sell; but I am always happy for the trade off. Ricky |
